2025 SCHEDULE

REGISTRATION

Participation in the official season, summer activities, and any out-of-season conditioning require registration including all paperwork and a current physical. Sports physicals are available at the Garfield Teen Health Center. ASB fee is not a requirement outside of the official season.

All GHS students are welcome to train with cross-country in summer as well as during any out-of-season conditioning we may oversee, regardless of participation during the season. Note that summer and out-of-season conditioning are not a requirement for participation during the season.

—OCTOBER 23: METRO LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP//LAST DAY OF SEASON FOR THE FULL TEAM

—NOVEMBER 1: DISTRICT 2 SEA KING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY

—NOVEMBER 8: STATE MEET FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY

MANDATORY PRACTICES

• MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS 4PM AT GHS lower field

• WEDNESDAYS AT 4p until early dismissal starts, then WEDNESDAYS at 2:45PM AT GHS lower field

COME TO PRACTICE PREPARED

Each student is expected to come to sessions on time with:

  • running shoes in decent condition

  • clothes to exercise comfortably in (including uniform for meets)

  • appropriate layers dependent on weather and for non-running time (including warmups for meets; pants when under 60°F, for ex)

  • water bottle filled with water or electrolyte drink, marked w/ name

  • a digital wrist watch

  • snacks for before (simple carbs ideal) and after practice (carb + protein ideal)

  • phone for safety with secure ergonomic carrier (SPIbelts are available to borrow)

    Students have access to the locker rooms from the bell until the start of practice time to prepare for practice.
